It is recommended that patients check with their insurance company as to whether or not an orthotic or prosthetic item will be covered. The patient is responsible for determining their coverage. For Workman’s Compensation or auto-related injuries, Teter Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc. must obtain prior authorization before the patient is seen.
To patients with a state funded insurance program (i.e., Children’s Special Health Care Services or Medicaid): State regulations require that prior approval is received from the state before any type of work is started as prescribed by your physician. At the time prior approval is given an appointment will be scheduled for you. Please be assured that everything possible is done to expedite the approval process. If you have questions about the prior approval requirement, please contact the case manager in your region.
